Power
Where energy is the “ability to do work”, power is the “time rate of change of energy” (Oregon State University). Energy is an analysis of potential motion at a moment in time, and power is the actual motion. Energy is three dimensional and power adds the fourth dimension: time. Energy is like a schematic of your phone’s battery, and power is observed – watching it drain.
The entire universe is in constant motion. It is a giant field of flowing power. Energetically, the universe is mostly empty, expanding, and exploding out sparks and dust we call galaxies, stars, and planets.
That must mean there is a common mathematical and biological foundation inherent in the chaotic, and even dangerous PTSD reactions that people suffer. Like with the Energy page, my focus is not on Quantum Physics. I am exploring the concept of Power through a lens of emotions: energy in motion.
Our human experience emerges from the triune brain interpreting the raw power coursing through the nervous system. If our emotions are narratives with core memories eliciting physical and social outcomes, then CPTSD is a result of emotions being stuck and denied. Without space to move and express, those emotions manifest then as reactionary behavior and chronic tension.
